"Five String Glen" Hellman, Bass and Vocals

The first song Glen learned, on a borrowed guitar, was Johnny B. Goode, that when it was a big hit on top 40 radio. That cool little riff got him into his first band, which was a bit short lived. Glen's band mates were considerably older -- he was 14 at the time, much too young to be playing in bars with them.
Growing up just South of Los Angeles, Glen did a short stint playing surf music a la Dick Dale and The Tornadoes. But he quickly settled into the blues and has been there since. "Two years ago, when I moved to Port Townsend, I retired my trusty old Telecaster," he said, "and picked up a shiny new 5 string bass. And now look at me, playing bass with Chicago Bob and The Midnight Train."
